Remote Notary Basics — FAQ

What if I’ve never done this before?

That’s completely fine, most people haven’t! I’ll walk you through each step before your session starts. All you need is your ID and a device with a camera. Once you join the secure video call, we’ll review your document together, sign digitally, and you’ll get your notarized copy right away. It’s quick, simple, and 100% legal in all 50 states.

Do I need to live in Texas?

Nope. I’m commissioned in Texas, but Remote Online Notarization (RON) is recognized nationwide. If you’re a U.S. resident with valid ID, I can help no matter what state you’re signing from.

What kind of documents can you notarize?

Powers of attorney, real estate closings, healthcare directives, affidavits, wills, and more. If you’re unsure, just ask. I’ll confirm right away.

Do I need to install an app or download anything?

Most sessions run right in your web browser. No apps or tech juggling required. If a platform uses its own secure app for ID verification, I’ll send you a direct link and walk you through it. You’ll never have to hunt for or install anything on your own.

How long does it take?

Most notarizations take about 10–15 minutes once your documents and ID are ready. Complex or multi-signer sessions may take a few extra minutes, but everything happens in one smooth, secure call.

Is my online notarization legal everywhere?

Yes. A notarization performed by a commissioned Texas online notary is recognized in all 50 states. Every session includes ID verification, a secure video recording, and a full audit trail that meets federal and state requirements.

What if my internet drops during the session?

No problem. If the connection cuts out, we’ll simply restart the secure meeting. Your documents and ID verification stay protected, and the notarization remains valid. You won’t have to start over.
